CLASSES BY DONATION
HAVING ACCESS TO SELF-EMPOWERING HEALING PRACTICES FOR ALL LEVELS OF SOCIETY IS IMPORTANT
It is this belief that motivates me to continue to offer my services by donation.
If you have a space big enough to hold 10 people or more, then we can do something!
Who Qualifies?
If you run an organization for those in need, a charitable organization, a school, a drop-in for immigrants/young mothers/job-seekers, a church, a mosque, a temple...
in short - any place that you have space to provide and a group of people that normally cannot access these kinds of services.
(If you can afford regular fees please click here)
How it works:
Many of us don't think twice about dropping $5 on a fancy drink at the local barista, but then look for a cheap alternative to our health and well-being. If we take that herbal tea for $2 and put that money saved towards a class, we contribute to our health in many ways. Just think of the possibilities!
My experience:
I have been teaching and learning yoga in a variety of its forms for over 2 decades.
I have been offering classes by donation now for over a decade.
This mode of teaching has allowed me to teach in many unique situations and locations.
I have taught in the Sultanate of Oman at Ibra College and small communities, I have taught in mosques and musallahs. i have taught on the islands of BC, and the in the forests of northern Ontario. I have taught out of my living room!
I have the blessing of working with people from all over the world, and having a wonderful education in South Asian studies and Comparative Religions, that informs me as I meet and teach a variety of cultures from around the globe. I truly feel blessed to be able to offer my services to you in this way.
I look forward to hearing from you and may we work well together in serving our fellow human beings.

How it works:
- First take a look around my website and see what types of courses I offer. Then speak to your community and determine what type of class or classes you are interested in. Generally, majority of my donation classes are meditation, pranayama and asana courses or a combination of the 3. However, I will teach anything I am capable of teaching. (yes even knitting!)
- Decide on frequency and preferred times. (how often? weekly, monthly? what time? 12noon? 4pm?
- Check on availability. Make sure your space is available, and that I am available!
- Book me in for a minimum of 4 weeks regular weekly sessions. (for longer or shorter one-time workshops it is determined between us in writing).
- Once we are in agreement of a time & location, and I am booked, it is your responsibility to get the word out. If you would like, I will list your class on my website for free - it will be seen by the public, so please keep this in mind.
- You are responsible for providing yoga mats, pillows and other props, or asking students to bring them.
- Make sure you inform students who attend, they must be willing to pay a donation. I feel this is important to point out, as many think that by donation means the class is free. It is not. However, the suggested donation of $10, is just that - a suggestion. In the past some students have had only $1 to put in the tin, and that is just fine! My sign usually says: "$10 suggested donation but pay what you can afford!"
